Internships
Just like the job search, you should start by thinking about your network of contacts (family, friends and professors) and start there to search for an internship.
Businesses and organizations post their jobs and internships on their career/employment pages, so it is best to go directly to the company website. Note: They will have deadlines to apply, and you need to start your search for an internship early. Many employers are posting their opportunities early in the Fall semester!
Handshake has many internships, including internships from employers that specifically want to hire a Crown Student!
indeed and glassdoor are good sites to search. Both work best when you create an account, and post your resume.

Resume Writing
Resumes are an important element in your internship and job search. I do not recommend using any resume template that you find on the internet. They are frequently not in a format that employers are seeking from a candidate, nor are they Applicant Tracking System friendly. Contact Don, Career Services Coordinator for individual help.
Crown College Career Services:
- Resume Worksheet, use this to gather the information needed to write your resume
- How to Write a Resume
- For resume samples specific to your major, email me. I’ll email a sample that is a Word document that you can use as a guide to create your resume. When you’ve completed a draft, we can meet to review/refine it. talbertd@crown.edu
- Professional References Sample use this to create your reference page
Resume Analyzer:
- Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) friendly resumes: from jobscan.co
- Resume Go allows you to analyze your resume to ensure it is not blocked by Applicant Tracking Systems and provides helpful feedback to optimize your resume.
Cover Letters
Writing a professional letter is important because it is often the first thing that employers see. When you write a poor letter the employer may not even look at your resume. Cover letters must be tailored to the position.
