PSEO is a free state funded program that allows MN high school juniors and seniors to enroll in college courses that earn them credits simultaneously for both their high school diploma and college degree.

How Crown in the Classroom Works:
- Crown works with instructors to find synergies and alignments between our curriculum and the school’s.
- Crown provides online and face-to-face curriculum for the teachers to use with their students. Teachers can also use their own curriculum.
- Credit seeking and non-credit seeking students stay in the same classroom. Students seeking college credit will just need to submit additional college level assignments.
Credentialed Teacher Format:
We can offer PSEO classes taught in your school classrooms by your own credentialed teachers. With this format, Crown provides the curriculum, the LMS, the accredited college credits, and support from our PSEO department.
Course Assistant Format:
We can offer PSEO classes in a hybrid format. With this format, students attend weekly face-to-face class sessions at your school and receive instruction from their teacher or a Course Assistant who partners with a credentialed online Crown professor. This option gives students the opportunity to get support from a familiar teacher while taking a high-quality online course under the guidance of a credentialed faculty member from Crown.
High school teachers who wish to serve as Course Assistants will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide credit-seeking students with an overview of class expectations.
- Lead classroom curriculum provided by Crown incorporating yours as appropriate.
- Remind students when Crown assignments and activities are due. Answer questions to help them prepare for submission.
- Communicate with the Crown instructor about any issues that arise in the class (i.e. schedule issues, struggling students, curricular concerns)
- Respond to instructor notices about struggling students and provide suggestions for how Crown can best support them.
- Submit course evaluations
Keep in Mind:
- To qualify for this program, students must be a high school junior or senior and have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
- Students can also take additional online PSEO courses; discuss this option with your school guidance counselor to make sure this works with your schedule and graduation requirements.
- Each student will be assigned a PSEO academic advisor who will provide academic and registration assistance.
- Our off-campus PSEO options, including our online, high school hybrid, and homeschool hybrid options do not require a faith statement and will not be affected by the pending PSEO legislation.
We work with each PSEO Partner to determine the best course offerings for your students. See Crown’s Catalog, www.crown.edu/catalogs for course descriptions. Terms when courses are offered may vary.
