Preview of Courses

ANT 231 - Cultural Anthropology

A foundational course in anthropology that places major emphasis on the concept of cultural variation in social construction and expression of the human experience. The course will prepare students for further studies in anthropology and culture through development of basic frameworks and research skills. The course is designed for a broad range of applications including professional and ministry contexts.

ICS 345X - Introduction to the Urban Context

The course presents an overview of major concepts needed for understanding of the special needs and opportunities present in population centers. Students will consider the urbanization of the world’s population, the sociological realities of the urban context, and will be introduced to the principles of Christian Community Development.

INT 410 - Intercultural Transitions Seminar

Students will reflect on their own cross-cultural experiences using intercultural transition theories. This consideration of the process of transitioning across cultures includes culture shock, intensity factors, individual processes of transitions, reentry.

Our faculty to student ratio is 17:1. We intentionally aim to keep our class sizes small. This allows us to maintain academic excellence and strong relationships between faculty and students. At Crown College, every student is a person and not just another number.
