Dr. Brandon Schmidly has recently been appointed Vice President of Advancement at Crown College, starting in 2024. In this role, he will lead the college’s fundraising initiatives, engage with alumni, and foster external partnerships. Dr. Schmidly brings extensive leadership experience, having served as Head of the Consolidated Department of Theology & Global Church Ministries at Evangel University from 2016 to 2024. There, he led the university’s largest division, overseeing significant structural changes and diverse academic programs.
He has a proven track record in securing substantial grant funding, having helped procure or manage over $6 million from donors large and small, including the Kern Foundation and Lilly Endowment. His strategic leadership in fundraising, program development, and student recruitment revitalized key initiatives, including enrollment strategies that helped surpass pre-pandemic levels.
Dr. Schmidly holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and has contributed scholarly work in ethics, political philosophy, and religious freedom. He has presented at national conferences, organized colloquia and lecture series, and co-edited the published volume Christian Morality: An Interdisciplinary Framework for Thinking About Contemporary Moral Issues.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, Dr. Schmidly is a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God, having served in pastoral roles where he provided spiritual guidance to youth and families. He remains actively involved in his community, volunteering for various organizations and serving on boards.
He is supported by his wife, Leanne, and their three children, Jenelle, Alyssa, and Zachary, as he begins this exciting new chapter at Crown College.
