Experiential Learning

Students gain real-world experience in a clinical setting in a variety of urban and suburban settings. They will also be prepared through disaster simulations.

100% of nursing graduates pass the NCLEX exam first try. Graduates do not struggle to immediately find high paying jobs.

Sarah’s mother always wanted to be a nurse, but a language barrier held her back from realizing her dreams. Now, her youngest is living out her dream and following God on this inspirational path He has prepared. “I’ve come to realize that I have my mom’s heart of serving and her heart for compassion,” Sarah said. In addition to be inspired by her mom, Sarah credits another source of inspiration for her career path. “Jesus is the perfect example as a nurse. He took care of the sick when nobody did,” she reflected.

NUR 301 - Foundations of Professional Nursing

This course will focus on the development of student’s knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for professional nursing practice. Competencies necessary to provide holistic care to a diverse client population throughout the life span will be introduced. Clinical reasoning and clinical judgment will be used as a systematic guide to client-centered care that incorporates social determinants of health and health equity. Nursing fee applies.

NUR 422 - Medical - Surgical Nursing II

This course will continue focus on knowledge, skills, and attitudes of adult health nursing. Students will apply clinical judgment to facilitate holistic care for adults exhibiting a human response to actual or potential health problems with consideration to social determinants of health and health equity. Nursing care is provided through the application of the six focused areas of the Quality and Safety in Nursing Education (QSEN) model. Nursing fee applies.

NUR 450 - NCLEX Preparation

This course is meant to prepare students to take the NCLEX-RN examination after successfully completing all required courses for graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BS in Nursing) from Crown College. Focus will be placed on further development of critical thinking and clinical judgement skills reflective of minimum-competency, entry-level nursing. Test-taking strategies will be discussed and practiced preparing students for CAT (Computer Adaptive Test).

How many students are in each nursing cohort?

The average size of each nursing cohort is 15 students. With three full-time nursing faculty, that is a student-faculty ratio of 3:1.

Will my credits transfer?

We generally accept credits from accredited institutions. To see a full list of what classes will transfer, you can visit Transferology or contact our registrar office at registrar@crown.edu.

What academic resources are available?
