SCA 5208 - Strategic Planning for Sports Administration

This course studies the leader’s role in strategic planning. Attention is given to developing vision and values, program development, allocating resources, and assessing effectiveness for improvement.

SCA 5242 - Athletic Recruiting

This course is designed to provide students with the necessary tools to become effective recruiters of athletic talent. Students will learn how to identify and recruit talent that will have a high impact within their athletic programs and be compliant with NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA rules when recruiting.

SCA 6212 - Sports Operations

This course focuses on the theory and practice of planning and managing facilities and events in interscholastic athletics. Topics covered in this course include the strategic management of athletic facilities, planning for facility construction and renovation, the maintenance of athletic facilities and equipment, event planning and management for school and non-school users, and emergency planning considerations utilized in program administration.

How does online education work?

Online education uses digital technology and the internet to deliver educational content. Our courses are built to be 8-week courses. Students can access lectures, assignments, and resources through our online platform, Canvas. Communication with instructors and peers often occurs through discussion forums, video conferencing, and email.

What technology and equipment do I need for online classes?

Requirements may vary, but generally, students need a reliable computer and internet connection.

How do online exams and assessments work?

Online exams and assessments can take various forms, including multiple-choice quizzes, essays, and timed exams. Most classes utilize discussion posts each week, due every Thursday. All of these are available on our online program Canvas.

Will my credits transfer?

We generally accept credits from accredited institutions as long as the student maintained a C or higher in the course. To see a full list of what classes will transfer, you can visit Transferology or contact our registrar office at registrar@crown.edu.
